Oh hadn't thought about using the quilt in the lounge. I made a quilt years ago but got out of the habit of using it when I inherited Jiffy ... but it would be nice to have it on display agin ... thanks for that

I'd definitely roll it, but also put a layer of acid-free tissue or clean calico/muslin over it first, so the top isn't touching the underside as you roll it - I'm guessing that Googling "textile conservation" will give you more answers than you know what to do with! I'd also consider rolling it round some sort of core, again covered in calico or similar - the sort of thing carpets are rolled on in carpet shops would work well and you could probably persuade a carpet retailer to give you one free.

Sounds fascinating.
