Can I humbly suggest eating in at someones place? I'd rather spend my money on good food and booze to share then on overpriced food and a tip for a waiter.
I suppose it's not out of the question if someone is willing to host. Our new place is not yet fit for company (by a long shot). We also don't yet know how many folks to expect.
If people would rather do it this way that's 100% fine by me. I just need to beg the use of someone's house.
If no one can host (which given the short notice I'd fully understand) we'll just have to revert back to eating out.
So, I guess there it is: Can anyone host a birthday dinner for Meg? Unless our wonderful host really wants to, I'll cook. I make some mean pasta.
If people are willing to make the trip to KoP I can offer our apartment for the gathering. We have the small grill, a Cost-Co nearby where you can buy a ton of hotdogs and hamburgers for cheap, so food could be easily handled.
By cheap I mean: 16 really good burgers and buns, 30+ hotdogs and rolls, all for around $30-35, so it'd be nice and cheap for everyone to eat. We also have a fryer that makes some GREAT seafood, if we feel adventuring and want to try shrimp.
I know it's a kinda annoying trip for some people, but the offer is there.
I don't have anything going on Friday night, so yeah, I should be able to make it.
I can offer my house up as a place of gathering, if desired. It's not far from most folks. There's plenty of space, and a kitchen for cookin'.
I haven't had a ton of people over yet, so depending on how many show up, there's probably enough seating. I have no clue how parking will be on a Friday night, but I usually don't have trouble finding parking within a block or so of my house.
Also, I'd have to clean first. But, I should really clean *anyway*. ;) Either way, just let me know!
