I don't know how relevant this is, but these dogs bear a distinct resemblance to the Hounds of Tindalos, which are probably completely unrelated to Lafitte's black dogs, but you never know. I wonder if somebody borrowed from somebody here. :-)

Who knows? Though the Campeche Hounds are supposedly devil dogs and not eldritch abominations...
