Last Friday I managed to see the movie Paranormal Events with my sister, and I have to admit, it is a very well done horror movie. Especially if you like "classic" horror that depends more on atmosphere than on buckets of gore, you will enjoy this movie... right after it gets done scaring the crap out of you ( Read more... )

Noted, a movie for me NOT to see....

I get freaked from reading horror movie tropes, let alone actually seeing horror movies, let alone really effective horror movies!

I was wondering if this was another "Blair Witch" movie (which I personally thought was an over-hyped waste of time). This sounds like it's a lot better. I might go see it now.

I'm sure there's some up and coming executive producer in Hollywood with plans to re-make Blair Witch, with a bigger budget that includes a Steadicam....

(This being a comment more about the idiots in Hollywood than the quality of that movie.)

Well, they're remaking Plan Nine from Outer Space... jairus_greywolf October 26 2009, 14:25:23 UTC
...as a serious Important Message film.

And they're also remaking Red Dawn, set in 2010. (What are they going to do for the backstory, restart the Cold War? Or is it The Republicans invading this time to put Dubya back on the throne?)

In the Red Dawn remake they'll make it a horde of evil Chinese instead of evil Russians, or so I've been informed.

You'd think they could do something with an Islamist coalition (just do a quick bit about radical Islam conquering the Middle East, uniting it under one caliph, and launching the invasion, and there you go -- really, it's no more unlikely than the original movie...)
