I just saw the graphic novel adaptation of the Astro Boy that (is? was supposedly?) coming out soon

The trailer did not inspire me with much optimism.

It gets better. I've been told elsewhere that this retelling will "improve on the original" because "Tezuka's stuff is incomprehensible to ordinary people anyway."

This is the fist I've heard of it, and hopefully the last.

Netflix has the original series available.
