I'm wondering about my preacher...

For our Christmas service (which actually turned out to be the last-one-before Christmas service, even though it was held on the 23rd -- don't ask), we get a sermon in which we're told that the Gospels were "just sermons written down for other audiences, centuries gone" and that "little of what they say about Jesus should be taken seriously ( Read more... )

I would go find another church, ASAP.

There are preachers who just do it 'because it's a job', and don't believe in the Christian faith at all. They just preach in a church, because they are good orators and it pays the bills.

Seriously, time to start looking for another church.

If you decide to hunt for a new church, this one looks to be in your area. The Evangelical Free Church is generally solid on the fundamentals of Christianity.

And sparked a reaction into a Gospel that was Personal Salvation and ONLY Personal Salvation.

I was more under the impression that Paul spoke of wolves in sheeps clothing - and this pastor sounds like he's a very, very stupid wolf in a... aw, crud, I can't even think of an animal that would be appropriate, I'm trying to avoid insulting other furs! =^_^=
