As an outsider, the image of Jesus I get tends to vary between denominations. Evangelicals paint Jesus as some kind of drug, who will make you feel happy and make everything in your life better as long as you become a dealer in Jesus to those who don't use him.

Catholics tend to present Jesus to me in a matter-of-fact way, as simply the Truth(tm). On the other hand, the monastic traditions seem to approach Jesus from a mystical way, as an inspiration for them to overcome their ego and embrace humility and quiet, tranquil inner peace.

But I have never really seen Jesus presented in a warrior manner. However, the Old Testament YHVH usually fills that role, given the portrayals of him as a vengeful type.

Well, in truth, GOD is full of power, majesty and might! The scriptures many times over attributes GOD as a King and a Warrior protecting and encompassing those who have faith in Him. Jesus is call the LORD of Lords and KING of Kings. Many verses exhibit Him as a mighty conqueror who conquered death and Hell. In Revelations, Jesus comes back on a white horse and defeating the armies of earth who tried to turn their own weapons on Him ( ... )
