Summary:
She’d come home the night before bruised, muddy, and completely exhausted. She’d barely even said hello to Eric before collapsing into a deep sleep on the couch.
However, when she woke the next morning, she found herself tucked into a warm bed, her filthy clothing pulled off and a clean sheet wrapped snuggly around her. She sat up, surprised and looked around for her husband. “Eric?”
“Right here,” he said, entering the room at that moment with a tray full of breakfast foods in his hands. “I thought you might want some breakfast.”
“I’m sorry about last night Eric. I know you had plans…”
“Don’t worry about it,” he said leaning over to kiss her lips softly. “You needed the sleep.”
“I didn’t think the case would take so long.”
“But it did. And it’s alright because you did what you needed to do. Now, eat your breakfast, so you can get to work and get done and then we can spend tonight together.”
She smirked and rolled her eyes at Eric, but did start eating the food he’d made for her.
