I'm sorry it didn't work out, but in the end it's probably better for both of you. You're starting down a long and difficult road, and you don't really need anything adding to your pain. Honestly, though, don't sweat labels and stuff. Sexual attraction is so fluid, and 99% of it comes from the brain. As you get more comfortable with yourself and especially if you start taking hormones, you really have no idea where you're going to end up. Don't feel like you need to know exactly who you are going to be just yet. :)
