As I was writing it, my inner censor came, tapped on my shoulder and said, "Sappy. Stop it. Stop it right now."
I probably would have had it not been for murronwho told me that it was all right to write something sweet as long as it wasn't sickly sweet. So, having admitted that, I'm very glad you found the story balanced!
