Oh, but it's so lovely to hear from you, and particularly that you felt the job was believable. On the subject of UST - this is my big personal issue with threesomes. I firmly believe they need time to be established and for the characters to be in the right emotional situation to consider a threesome and that's hard to do in just a couple of pages. So I'm quite pleased to see my approach worked for you! Of course, I didn't really expect for them to take roughly 120 pages to finally manage to get it on, but that's characters for you. Stubborn. :o)
I'm so happy to hear the story moved you, and I'm particularly pleased that the research seems to have paid off. Thank you so much for the comment!
This is a wonderfully intricate story. It's taken me a while to read this, and during the pauses I was worrying about these three and hoping it would turn out okay. All the twists and turns in the story were great, and the emotions of all three as they stumbled their way through felt pitch perfect. The job itself had its horrifying elements, as well as the fallout, and I liked seeing the three of them have their BAMF moments as well as see them as human. It's a dangerous world they live in, and to go through that as well as the relationship issues made i that much more heartbreaking at times.
Thank you so much for your comment! Believe me, I was quite horrified at some of the job's aspects myself. I had a vague plan, but the story developed a life of its own, and some of the particularly nasty aspects were absolutely unplanned. I hope you got enough from the story that made up for the darker aspects, though. I know it took them a while to go from UST to RST, but I hope that made up for some of the trauma. I have to say that I had a fantastic time writing Ariadne in this, going from fairly naive to BAMF, but never quite losing that certain innocence, and (at least I hope so), never being perfect. She was quite a brat a lot of the time, but to me, that made her more human. I'm so glad to hear that the relationship issues in the story worked for you, seeing as you're quite well versed on the subject in your stories yourself.
I hear you on stories taking on lives of their own. Sometimes you get really interesting bits of stories that way. The darker aspects of the story made it more compelling for me, not less. The film itself hinted at all the things you state outright in this story but didn't really go into it. I'm sure it was as much time constraints as plot. I'm pretty sure Cobol didn't have warm fuzzy feelings in mind for Cobb. ;)
The time to go from UST to RST was believable here. It wouldn't be true to the characterizations here for them to all fall into bed together without repercussions and have a happily ever after. Ariadne's progression into a BAMF was believable, since it was in fits and starts and still with echoes of a conscience.Having her as a BAMF prodigy too would've felt too OOC here.
Yeah, I kinda write a lot of OT3 fic featuring these three. I just love them that much. :)
My god, I just read this whole thing in it's wholesome when I have to be at work in a couple of hours.
This is utterly amazing. I honestly have no words. It's brilliant. The worst part is that I still need more. So I hope you are making a sequel to this film. I want to see more. Several more in case you were wondering.
A late reply, please forgive my tardiness. Hopefully, you didn't fall asleep at work because of reading so late?
I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the story. Hearing that sequels are in demand is incredibly flattering, but I firmly believe that this story is told. But maybe there will be some deleted scenes some day. :o)
It's strange, somehow, I have a hard time imagining an actual OT3-story that's short, because the dynamics of those three sometimes were a nightmare. I'd have no idea how to make them work in a shorter story.
I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed it, particularly the plot. Thank you so much for your kind comment!
