Wow, I didn't realize May 7th is Iron Man 2! That seems kinda close, so yay!

My parents are watching The Proposal for the tenth time right now, hah. I've yet to see it.

I WANT TO GO TO DISNEYLAND. D:

RIGHT?! SO FREAKING EXCITED.

Haha, it was pretty good. Nothing as memorable as it was made out to be, I think.

I WISH I COULD HAVE TAKEN YOU WITH ME. D:

okay seeing your review of "the imaginarium of doctor parnassus" makes me want to see it. i had actually heard about it quite awhile back and it had kinda slipped my mind. i always quite enjoyed heath ledger's films (and tv, remember roar? heehee). i'll have to be on the look out for that film! (also, you get points for loving mcavoy. cause he's amazing.)

Yeah, I've been waiting for this film for what seems like forever now. It wasn't anything like what I was expecting but I say that in the best possible way. Plus Heath was incredible. ♥

Oh, James is basically the love of my life. 8D

I agree with you about Parnassus. It is flawed, but ultimately intriguing for the way it is executed and the way the narrative has been twisted to "fit" the circumstances of Ledger's death. I think Andrew Garfield totally stole the movie for me, however.

I feel lik I'm the one person in the world who has absolutely no interest in seeing Avatar.

Ahh, I forgot to mention Andrew Garfield! During the film, I kept thinking how much I loved him in this film and then I completely forgot. Oops. He was lovely. Overall, I did like the film, though, and Heath was excellent.

It doesn't really seem like your type of film, to be honest.

Yeah, his character was the right amount of naive, irritating, and adorable. Andrew Garfield reminds me a lot of Harry Lloyd looks wise. I've only seen Garfield in the first part of the Red Riding series, but he is an up-and-comer, that is for sure.

Haha, in what way? I didn't know I had a "type" of film?

Yes! I really adored his performance. It definitely was a highlight of the film.

LOL, I don't really know how to explain it! I just know you pretty well and it just didn't seem like something you'd be clamouring to see. Doesn't quite have the depth or character study (or whatever you'd like to call it) that I think appeals to you. IDEK IF THIS IS MAKING SENSE ANYMORE.

WORDY MCWORDERSON to your Avatar review. Everything else in the movie is so spectacular that I'm willing to overlook the script issues. I don't know if I'd personally choose Avatar as Best Picture because of the weaknesses in the screenplay (I can overlook them as a viewer but I can't ignore them when it comes to awards). Then again, what would I choose instead? Inglourious Basterds was epic but it has its own imperfections. It's been a weird year for movies. NOthing is really sticking out in my mind as an "across the board" success. Regardless, I think Cameron earned his Best Director trophy and I don't think Avatar deserves the backlash it's been receiving.

I agree about Up in the Air too. I thought it was a solid film, but not spectacular. IB and Avatar had more noticeable flaws but they were also more exciting.

YES. IT WAS SUCH A GREAT FILM. Honestly, in my mind Inglourious Basterds does fit as an "across the board" success. I really believe that and am trying not to be biased here. I thought it was such an incredible film when looking at the whole picture. I do agree about James Cameron deserving to win and I also agree about choosing Avatar to win Best Picture (and, as you said, the backlash is awful).

I completely agree on all accounts there.

Right now I'd give director to Cameron and screenplay to Tarantino and then... flip a coin for Best Picture lol. Or Star Trek can swoop in and take it.

LOL BASICALLY. This is all about the people for me now, rather than the movies as a whole.
