I saw Princess & The Frog yesterday and Iw as just like :D :D :D :D the whole time. It was so nice to see 2D animation, and -- I guess because I grew p with it -- I was reminded of how much more it draws me in than the CGI stuff. Pixar is all well and good, but it doesn't give me the same squishy joy the 2D animation does.
And the colours were GORGEOUS. The hanging bottles in Mama Odi's tree! The shadows!
Dr Facilier was definitely a badass. I just youtubed his song, lol.
AND TIANA. Tiana was a grade-A badass. I never had a favourite in the first place but if I had to pick now it'd probably be her.
YES. THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I WAS! I completely agree on the 2D animation, as if you couldn't tell from the review. It's just gorgeous. I was raised on it as well and as I said, it's just magical.
OH THE COLOURS. 8D
Haha. I have the soundtrack if you want it!
I LOVE TIANA SO MUCH NOW. SHE IS FABULOUS AND SUCH AN HBIC.
Oooh. That is neat! Guh, I love Disney. I really, really do. All they put into their films is amazing.
I hope this one's successful enough that they do more like this. Oh 2D animation, I miss you. I mean, JUST LOOK AT THE POSTER. Computer animation just can't compare, sry2say.
Haha. I have the soundtrack if you want it!
Oo, that would be awesome!
TIANA IS THE GREATEST. I actually think this movie would've been one of my very favourites if it had come out when I was little. I always liked the animal movies a bit more than the princess ones, so my favourite princess movie was Little Mermaid, and Princess and the Frog is like the best of both worlds.
It is! It's crazy how much work must go into a film like this.
I think it would have as well. I mean, it has become one of my favourites and I just love it but I can imagine I'd be so much more excited in that little kid way had it come out when I was younger.
It really is but that just makes me appreciate it more. It's brilliant.
Princess and the Frog was very cute. Definitely glad that I got to finally see it! :D
And I saw Avatar today. It was good. Not amazing. But still enjoyable and entertaining. It was kind of too long, but it kept us interested. I don't think that it lived up to the director's statement of changing the way that filmmaking will occur from this point on, though. It was good, and I think others will imitate the style because it worked, but it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen.
IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. ;o; ONE OF MY FAVOURITE DISNEY FILMS EVER.
I've heard both accounts. I've heard people basically foaming at the mouth over it and I've heard people like you being rather passive over it. I have a feeling I'll fall into the former category. I'm so pumped to see it. I've been planning to for a while now and I don't think it will be a disappointment. I have a good feeling it will basically blow my mind.
Lawrence (who I totally pictured as Timothy Spall basically the entire time - I think it was because of his role in Enchanted
OMG GOOD THAT WAS IT EXACTLY. THIS THIS THIS!
Aww, The Princess and the Frog was super cute. I grew up with the Disney Renaissance (I was four when The Little Mermaid was released) so I love that Disney is going back to 2D animation. I had a few nitpicks with the movie (I didn't find the songs all that memorable and a few plotty things felt rushed), but Tiana was an amazing heroine and it was awesome how cute Naveen and Tiana were as FROGS. Maybe I'll have to watch it a few more times to get over the music/pace thing, because it was adorable and the animation was gorgeous.
I absolutely adored it. It's quickly become one of my favourite Disney films. I find it basically impossible for me to nitpick at a film like this simply because I sit there watching it with stars in my eyes. But I'm so biased with Disney films like this. I just loved it so, so much.
TIANA IS TOTES UP THERE WITH BELLE AS MY FAVOURITE DISNEY PRINCESS, TOO.
NAVEEN WAS ALWAYS HOT, EVEN AS A FROG, WHUT?!?!
LOUIS AND HIS POINTY STICK MADE ME LOL SO HARDCORE.
RAAAAAAAAY.
AND DR. FACILIER, OOOOOO-ER. Of course I was just excited there was a Vodun villian, and THEN he had to be voiced by Keith David, O He Of Teh Schmexy Voice. Mmmmm. X^D
Holy crap your brush with fame...Conan O'Brien! He is my favorite late-night guy, and just a wonderful person. Tall as can be, of course, but I'm sure he's a great dad. How cool!!!

Funfact, which you may or may not have noticed (I did solely because I have twirlynoodle on my flist) -- check out the pattern on the curtain behind Dr Facilier's shadow. She posted that some months back and during that scene I kept focusing on it. So cool.

But go see it. Definitely worth it. :)
