THANK YOU, Doctor Who and Torchwood fans...

... for both helping me out with your recommendations and creating a monster. There's a person in the flat above playing Torchwood on endless-repeat and in-between all the "yabba dabba dooo!", "wheeee!" and "whoooot!" I can clearly make out the word "Jack", and somehow I fear she's not talking about Jack Sparrow ( Read more... )

Glad to read your endeavours lead to a full success! No such thing as a bunch of DW fans asked to recommend their favourite eps ;-)

Did you get to see any other 9th Doctor episodes as well, or was it just Empty Child/Doctor Dances?

next Sunday it will be the 10th doctor and there will be another "classic Doctor Who" marathon.

Heh, I'll be looking forward to read what Miss C. thinks about old school DW. As for the 10th Doctor, he is one of a kind, very lost and yet very powerful at the same time.

I've already seen some 9th doctor episodes, but only with "one ear" (Miss C. watching, I'm working, picking up this and that while the telly was running). I can't really put the finger on what is not so endearing about no. 10 - I guess for me, he's just too over the top. Difficult to explain, I suppose this is the way he has to be, but during the season finale, I was tempted to throw something in direction of the TV set more than once, simply because I found him too hectic to bear.

Perhaps one could call the phenomenon the result an unfortunate combination between a very fine but occasionally somewhat hectic and OTT lead actor and the rather hectic and OTT style of the series' creator Russel T. Davies, who, so far, has written all of the New Who finales ( ... )

Hahahaha! :-P I admit it was entertaining, but nothing I'd want to write about. I guess I leave this to the more dedicated and creative ones. ;-)

Now that you mention it... wouldn't that make one hell of a script for POTC IV...? *cackle*

"American."
"British."
"Hell, no!"
"As there is no state called 'America', you can probably not be 'American'. You're a British citizen, period."
"United States of America! Don't you people have any maps here?"
"Don't you people have any manners?"
"Now listen, Gillette..."
"That's Lieutenant Gillette to you, Sir."
"I'm a captain, you're a lieutenant? Fine! So I outrank you and order you to shut up now."
"Captain? You? Ha! More like the court jester."
"I'll give you jester, buster..."
"Gentlemen, gentlemen, I'm certain that this is only a misunderstanding..."
"Captain Norrington, Sir, this man is a spy, sent by the rebellious colonies!"
"Mr. Gillette, I-"
"Well, well, you're the captain here? I think I stay a while."
"You- Mr. Gillette! Put down that pistol!"

Erestor, baby, I sent you an email last week about your Xmas present. I need your neck measurements for the choker--it has to fit snug so the black velvet and beadwork looks right, but I don't want to strangle you.
