Meta: Out, out, you evil spirits of stoopid! Rather than outing ME!

Some of you might have heard of a website called "Fahn Historie". I've misspelled it on purpose. I don't want that friggin' thing and its three-times cursed owner (partly bouncy on LJ, btw.) to get even one hit through anything I write or do.

FH is a "wiki". A fanwiki. History of fandom and fen. Fine. No household can do without one. I learned about FH when a friend sent me a mail back in April, I think, and informed me that there was an entry about me on FH. Yes, about ME, have a laugh, friends! And not only about me, noooo, about all my fannish identities, my writings etc.

For the greatest part, the typo-riddled entry was amusing - organising a moot with six visitors at my flat made me a "convention organisator". I'm glad Mr Taxman didn't come to inquire about that.

She also pointed out that my original writing was based on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm glad Mr Disney-Lawyer didn't come to inquire about that. Not that there would be a problem; if anything, my POTC fanfic is based on my original fic. There were links to then not yet existing entries about Nellas/Menegroth and Magic Rat.

There was more. "Erestor is Joyful Molly and she's also Emma Collingwood and just so you know, she's also writing under the name of Funeral Director about her time as a concert agent". Well thank you very fucking much and welcome to Creepy Town, I thought. That little tidbit had never been public or non-public information on the internet. A wild guess, maybe? I mailed FH and asked to have the entry taken down, which was done immediately. Other's were less fortunate, their requests turned down.

The "Erestor" you can now find on FH is not me, but some other poor soul who was randomly added by the FH bot trawling ff.net. I didn't post about it here because eh, I rather not get upset than get upset. Had I known back then what a lovely piece of work she is, I WOULD have made a nice little ranty entry here, trust me on that.

Well. As a consequence of this "outing", I dropped my plans to continue the "Funeral Director" blog for good, simply because it was such a personal project, and having it out and connected with me was not acceptable, so it went the way of the dodo.

I usually have no problem with people knowing that I write fanfic and have a thing for navy uniforms. My friends know, my family knows, my colleagues at work giggle. Nobody gives a flying fuck about my Most Boring Tales. But I'm privileged; so many people don't have the comfort of an understanding environment. Some have to hide what they enjoy for whatever reasons. Their reasons. Their decisions.

And some folks simply don't want to have their real life name connected with their fandom identity, no reasons given, no reasons needed, period. Their decision, remember? Not that this keeps partly bouncy from "outing" them - as recently happened on a community in a galaxy not too far away. Have a drink first and then read the ugly summary here.

And why all that? MONEY! What else. It's rare that we get to see the face behind internet wankers and trolls, but thanks to partly bouncy herself, there's even a VIDEO! Yes, friends and folks, a sales video. Party Bouncy is selling you. Now wouldn't I be pissed off if I'd been somebody who has worked on that FH wiki for free?

WATCH THE UGLY FACE OF FANDOM
(and by that, I mean the content, not the wrapping)

Please, do NOT click on the link she has provided next to her video. Do not send traffic to her website. She has encouraged people to create wank and troll just so she'd get more hits.

To sum it up: get a life. And "Gillette" is spelled with two "t"'s, you git.
