Terribly depressing, isn't it. Just one of those days. So I just posted something which will hopefully amuse you. (It definitely amuses ME every time I see it!)

And it's crap like this that has me in the criminal justice program:

So the "singling out" process will be met with the justice it deserves. Namely: "An eye for an eye."

I could never deal with such things in a professional manner. I'd probably be like the kitty in your icon...

Some people argue that "killing somebody because of the clothes they wear" doesn't count as a hate-crime

The people who believe that must be stupid. I wonder what sort of crime these clowns think it is then.

I think these murderers should have their faces and names plastered everywhere. Too many hand wringers are ready to defend their rights and I wonder how many realise that the people they defend would willingly do the same to them.

They argue that hate-crime means a crime for singeling people out for their religion, skin colour or sexual orientation (though some folks even argue that the later isn't a hate-crime. Yeah. Sure.) From my pov, that's a dangerous stance; it's the mentality behind the "singeling out" that's dangerous and leads to a hate-crime.

People have changed, the age of delinquents has dropped and a 16 year old today is "older" than a 16 year old was twenty years ago. This is something that should be taken into account. Law's limping behind reality, once more.

it's so sad that stuff like this happens in the world...you would think that we would be a little better than this by now.
I suppose some of it would go back to the parents & how they raised those monsters. What were they teaching them or allowing them to partake in for them to turn out this way ?
I have one kid & I'll be hanged before she gets an attitude towards anybody different. O' course, I have punk/gothic leanings, so she is used to that stuff, but it goes for any type of person, really. She is in public school, so is exposed to a bunch of different groups, thankfully.
I feel for the families....

Um. This is why we have guns in America?

::is trying to find a logic response to this illogic::

Why did no one help these two? When I was in London in 2004, there was this couple's rental car being rammed by an irate man in another car allegedly over a parking space. Out of the mass of people walking past I was the one person to stay and help the people being attacked. Lil' old 100 lbs, 4 foot 11 inch Säbrinä Märie. My only weapons were pepper spray, a camera, and a notepad to write down all pertinent details. Maybe it is just 'cause I'm a damn nosy and interfering "Good Samaritan" Midwesterner - but when things like this are going down it is a citizen's duty to put a stop to it by any means necessary: gun, knife, fist, citizen's arrest, calling 911, etc...

Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions here...

But the devotion of Sophie is amazing, she didn't run away, but placed herself between the gang and her lover. Simply amazing. There should be ballads sung in her honor.
