This made me sigh and raise my eyes to the ceilings. I hate this kind of guys.
Anyway, most people who voted for one side or the other voted for the wrong reasons, IMO. It was not a bad thing that I was in the USA at the time of the campaign. If I had been in France and watched what happened, I would have spit fire for the whole month.
Yes, with Sarkozy/Royale, it was really choosing between flu and a cold. He hasn't come forward with a single plan how to improve integration of immigrants, which is the main problem. He just says "we can't let more people into France" - fine. But what to do with the ones who are already there? Cutting welfare will definitely NOT be the solution for those problems. Meh.
I noticed this guy was "pledging unity" after his win in the headlines today. I am an ignoramus and had no idea who he was, but to me, "pledging unity" after a win is usually the sign of an asshole politician who's going to suck... is that just me?
Heh! What infuriates me is that this friggin' Sarkozy hasn't anything to offer but empty phrases. Beyond "we'll make France big again" there's NOTHING. No plans - at least none that have any chance at success. I'm all for curbing the influence of the trade unions in France (that's a mob if there's ever been one!), but how he wants to do this he hasn't shared with anybody yet. And the hot spot, immigration? "It can't go on like this" - yes, very nice, thank you, Mr. Sarkozy, and what are your plans?
He's terrible. Any person calling parts of the population "scum" has no right being the leader of a country. >:(
It's funny how there are close to zilch reports on the riots in France now... but there are riots, oh boy!
Don't you just HATE paying for other people?? That's why I dislike welfare; I'm paying for other people, who probably don't work.
No. As a matter of fact, I don't hate paying for other people. Welfare is a good thing; a civilised society has the responsibility to look after those who can't look after themselves. I DO have problems with foreigners though who work in my country because our social system is better and because we pay higher wages, yet bitch about foreigners working in their country because their social system is better.
I agree that those who "milk" the system and refuse to contribute to it shouldn't be supported. But I would bet that's not only "immigrants" (which would be most Americans...) but a good number of US citizens as well.

No. Just showing how absurd the arguments are.

I'm not feeling comfortable with that guy in the neighbourhood - his thinly veiled racism alone would be enough to get me up in arms.
