see below. :) these incenses (or rather: gums and resins) are burnt on small coals. amazing stuff. basics for every pagan and wiccan.

storax and mastic are the two incenses I have for "everyday use". I have others for ritual purposes on special days like beltane or samhain, but these are the two I use every day.

mastic helps me when I need to have a "clear head", for example when I write or work, or when I have to make an important decision etc. I use storax to relax, for meditation, when I'm upset, and before I go to sleep. it's also very nice if you have company - it's very... stimulating. ;)

nice, brief descriptions can be found here:

MASTIC

STORAX

that website offers online ordering in the usa, by the way. for europe, I'd recommend

DRUIDSKEEP, but they are not allowed to ship oversees.

Oh, I like this piece very much! One of the more fascinating exhibits to me at the Smithsonian was always the small case of folk carvings for the Day of the Dead celebration. Amazing things, like skeletons driving burrow carts. Each time I went to the History and Technology building, I just had to stope and look at them.

I'm absolutely in love with this thing. she's sitting in a wheelchair, by the way. I'll take pictures once everything is re-arranged and in place. :D

"El día de los muertos" and "El día de todos los santos" takes place during American's halloween and you have to spend the day visiting a relative who has died, not to weep for him or her, but just to be with him and her.
In Argentina, there used to be a tradition of it, but like every tradition of this wide world, it got lost, and everyone celebrated halloween instead of those days.
That artwork you posted about is very popular in Mexico, unluckily here it is difficult to get, but there are many that worth the pay (look well in that shop, usually most of the pieces sold are collections, and some collections are wonderful)

it's very sad that traditions disappear because of imported "merchandise". same happened here with christmas. usually, it's "baby jesus" who brings the presents to the children on the 24th of december, and now it's the coca cola santa claus. :-( sorry to hear that it is the same in argentian. *sigh*

the store is awesome, and the owner has so many lovely pieces. she shops herself in mexico. it's really great, the artists are paid fair prices, and many of them are woman who are alone in supporting their families, because the men have run off or died, so it's "development help" in a way.

if I had more money, I'd buy the whole shop. :D I just absolutely fell in love with that one. :)
