And It’s Away!

Jul 21, 2018 15:15

I finally submitted Duty or Desire yesterday. Went over the ms until my eyes crossed. Same goes for the synopsis and query. So now I wait. It can take up to 12 weeks before I get a reply. I’m not sure that I want to submit elsewhere simultaneously ( Read more... )

Thank you so very much, Karen! It’s been so long since I dipped my toes into LotR stories! I hope I can get back into the ‘verse well enough to tie up all loose ends. This last book really took a lot out of me, probably because it was double everything, including the angst. Writer’s block did not help at all.

Congratulations and good luck with the submission. I've been longing to read the next installment so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I know from my own experience how nerve-destroying the waiting can be!

Thanks, Naledi. Nerve-destroying is so very on point. You have published books too? That’s wonderful!

Congratulations on finishing the ms! That's always a major milestone. Can I ask where you are submitting? Have you had good luck with them on your other books? I wish you luck with getting this one published.

Thank you! It is a milestone, isn’t it? Just knowing it was done left me with a sense of awe as well as relief.

I didn’t submit to my current epub because they emailed their authors early this year that they wouldn’t be accepting material that exceeded 20,000 words. Part of their streamlining process to keep themselves in the black. I don’t blame them. They have to do whatever it takes to keep afloat. But that left authors like me in a bind. I’m not keen to go into self-publishing so I submitted to another epub that’s willing to look at mid-series books. I don’t want to name them just yet especially if they don’t accept my book. Suffice to say they’re the digital arm of an established publishing house.

That's fantastic!

Also glad to see you're okay :) *hugs* I was worried since we hadn't heard from you in a while so I'm so happy to see everything going well :)

*crosses fingers* I hope Duty or Desire finds a home soon, I very much look forward to reading it :) Either Yovan or Aeldan's story sounds good, so whichever is really grabbing your attention is the one I'd recommend :)

PS: Just saw your reply to my comment on your other post. Didn't realize I wouldn't get a notification if you replied xD

*gets out pom poms* wishing you the best in writing and hoping writer's block doesn't attack again :)

Hi Angie! Thank you. I’m on tenterhooks while waiting. But I’m resolved to keep myself occupied getting a headstart on the next book. It’s strange but i feel rejuvenated and eager to start writing again. I hope this means the chronic writer’s block is gone.

I’ve decided to write Yovan’s book. It calls to me right now. Maybe it’s because it will be a change of pace and story format for me to a certain extent. And I do like the challenge of writing an older couple romance that isn’t any less passionate-emotionally or sexually-than their younger counterparts. Not that Yovan is a doddering grandpa. In my mind, he looks a lot like Misha Collins. *lol*

Thank you, Liz! I’m very ok. And finally feeling back on track. I’m actually eager to get started on the next book. I only hope the current book is accepted so I don’t have to shop around again.
