I was going to update, but now I have lost much of that motivation. I'm not quite sure why. Probably because what began as a discussion with my mother about how I need to determine what is bothering me about a certain situation turned into a complete and utter rant about several people I know and multiple things going on in my life. Why no talk about Robert DeNiro? He was the best part of the movie for me! (I highly enjoyed the rest of it, but he just stole it). I haven't read the book, yet Claire Danes in that role just felt... weird... to me and took some getting used to. She just doesn't have that ethereal/fae quality I'd think of for that role, and something about her whole presence makes me have to suspend a little extra disbelief whenever she's in a period piece (sort of like a lot of people had a hard time with Jack Black in King Kong). Since we're in such madcap fairy-tale territory, though, where bitching about "anachronisms" would be silly, I was able to get used to it and enjoy everything.

No talk about DeNiro, because everyone just needs to go see him. There really are no words for his awesome. XD I see what you mean about Claire Danes not being quite as ethereal. Still, for all the nitpicking I could do, I really did like it.
