Ask me questions

Mar 08, 2006 18:48

Bored, attention-starved, and obligated is a very bad combination. I asked mipplet some questions, so now here is your chance.

Ask me a question about each of the following topics, no matter how rude, sexual, or confidential:
  1. Friends
  2. Sex
  3. Music
  4. Drugs
  5. Love

1. That's a tough one. I've been feeling very insecure lately, and I often wonder if I have a best friend. In real life, it's probably Josh. Online, it's probably frey_at_last.

6. Four years and a little over two months.

Added. :-)

Heh I had to work it all into a question! What do you think gets written about more on LJ -- friends, sex, music, drugs or love? And what is your favorite and least favorite of those to read about?

Uhh... I'd have to say friends overall. After all, that's why we're all here. There is always some kind of drama going down, either with real life friends or online ones. I guess friends are also my favorite to read about. Drugs I can't relate to at all; most talk of music goes right over my head. Some people can talk about love and sex and I enjoy reading about it, either because I'm happy for them or it turns me on. When others do, I get lonely or jealous.

1. What is the most important thing to you to look for in a friend as far as what you have in common with them?
2. Do you have a favorite love scene from a movie? If not, just give me what you think is the best kiss in a movie ever.
3. If you could go back in time to see any musical artist that is now deceased perform live, who would you pick?
4. If you could do any harmful drug and magically not experience any addiction or negative health effects from it, what would you try?
5. How would you go about describing love in sign language to someone who didn't know what it was?
6. What is your favorite Livejournal community?

1. Hmmm. Probably just a general outlook... being intellectual or geeky. I like people I can talk to intellectually. Or it could go the other way, and be somebody I can connect with on an emotional level. The few people I've found who are both are true friends indeed. As far as specific interests, I especially like people with whom I can talk about literature, history, or religion.

2. Hmmm, wow. I'll have to think about that one. Most of the love scenes that come to mind I like more because they're emotional than because they're particularly steamy. Actually, at the moment I'm drawing a total blank. Let me think some more, and I'll get back to you.

3. Someone classical. J.S. Bach, or Chopin, or Mozart, or Beethoven.

4. Marijuana. I know it's debatable that it's harmful, but it is illegal, and there's always the lingering fear for me that it is harmful, addictive, wrong, or just plain not cool. I can't even imagine doing anything harder. I've never even been really drunk ( ... )

#3: I'm one of what feels like few people in the world that actually like the movie "High Fidelity," in which the main character has a philosophy about making the perfect mix tape. Do you have a philosophy, or at least... a specific way in which you go about creating mixes?

I don't really have a philosophy, but I can say that I'm terribly anal about it, to the point that I seldom do it. Usually, the extent of my mixing is putting whatever songs I happen to be listening to at the time in an order of some kind of progression. Often they'll end up with a theme, but that's not always my intent. The last one I made was for a road trip, and it started out with really random, upbeat, "pump me up" music (including the theme from Rocky and Hulk Hogan's old theme), and ending with really sad songs about missing people (which a lot of my mixes involve ( ... )

2. Would you have sex with your (future) wife even if it was her time of month? :^P

4. If you could do any illegal drug and know 100% it would not kill you, which one would you do?
5. What is the craziest thing you've done for someone you love?

1. I didn't used to, but now sometimes when they start to hurt me, it's a natural reaction. I would never cut somebody off, though, just distance myself from them emotionally, and even then, probably only until I felt more in control of my emotions.
2. Of course.
3. My adolescence? As if it's still going on? ;-) Hmmm, I would probably credit that to the classical composers, for expanding my mind the way they have and ministering to such a wide range of emotion and feeling. I don't think I could pin down just one. Aside from them, it would probably be one of the artists who were so therapeutic to me, Alison Krauss or Matchbox Twenty, perhaps.
4. Marijuana. See above. ;-)
5. I once drove 14 hours to see someone I'd never met, but was sure I loved (and still do). On the spur of the moment, with only a day or so of planning.
6. I think it was elletiger. She's still on my friends list, but seldom posts and never comments. myownthought was my first commenter. She's gone. She sometimes posts under a different name, I think, but she's no longer my friend. __bothsidesnow was ( ... )
