Shadi completed our salvage point tracker based on the TLWI system. The thing is a beast. It takes into account overall attendance, loot obtained within the group, lotting priority, and if someone is 2/3 on an item and translates this into a numerical value. Each person has a different number for every single piece of 15/25/35 gear and the ( Read more... )

Oh god red mage... Please please... restore my long shattered faith in redmages and kick some serious ass. Most of the redmages I've dealt with were self-important glorified morons.. and boy theres nothing in this game I love more than players comparable to plain bread with butter thinly spread over half of it...

Goal of the summer... follow yer advice and make Diary of a Mad Galka Dancer a reality o.o/

Extremely significant guest appearance by me! And yes, it was Chain #216 or so, I believe. We broke chain right after Shadida declared that it was his longest chain ever, after which he proceeded to run face-first into Sickle Slash. What a jerk.

I think leveling RDM is a good choice, definitely overall one of the most useful and versatile jobs in the game. I've been leveling mine to 37 for now, mostly as a PLD sub, but I'll come back to it as my next 75 after I finish SAM. I've been camping Tortoise Shield every day for it lately, because it's the only shield with any INT or MND until level 67/68, and I'm a perfectionist like that. I don't know who's genius idea it was to put a level 30 shield as a non-guaranteed drop on a 21-hour NM in a highly-trafficked area, but I bet they were involved in designing A Crystalline Prophecy.

Unless you're having trouble landing an enfeeble, elemental staves are worse than club+shield for ones where the potency is based on your stats. Stacking Enfeebling Skill and Magic Accuracy gear with an Aquilo's Staff is great for making Paralyze land, but the mob will probably never actually have an attack paralyzed. You should be using as much MND as you possibly can while still having it land. The strongest INT/MND wand available with a Tortoise Shield is still a good thing to be using, even after level 51.

Of course for all the enfeebles that are only a binary on/off (Gravity, Silence, Sleep, etc) you should just be using an elemental staff.

As for the possibility of getting a shield augmented with INT and/or MND, I hadn't really looked into that. I'll have to see what I can find, that might be better than this terrible NM.

I'm always having trouble getting enfeebles to land. I'll admit I don't have every single piece of MND or INT gear since it seemed sort of pointless since I was level synching a lot, but still, the resist rate is pretty bad. Like 50% on most enfeebles such as para, slow, and blind. Staves vs. INT/MND wands seems like a choice to be made when I have actual enfeebling gear and stuff, not so much when I'm running around with lowbie crap.

As for augments, I trust them less than I trust a puppetmaster main healing a party. What a farce that system is.
