Altruism's End

I really feel stretched about as far as I can be by now. The past week and a half or so have been nightmarish ordeals mostly consisting of helping people and getting absolutely nothing back out of it. I keep helping them, because they need it and I know what it's like not to get help, and they're like okaythanksbye and that's the end of that. And ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear you're having those problems, and you're right, it sucks.

All I can say is try being a bit more selfish for your own sake, it may help. Stop helping people for a while, it's not like helping them is a rule of your ls, otherwise it would have broken by now. Set the rules down before going to events as a guest. If you don't like the rules then, don't go.

A lot of people (in order servers, regretfully) truly appreciate what you've done to help us with CoP and we probably wouldn't have survived too well, or would have been much more frustrated, without you. For that, thank you =) It'd be nice if you could get some recognition on your server that I'm sure you would get from people that have used your guide.

Sorry to hear that, Ere. Don't worry though; from what I can tell, everyone in every MMO will have a period like this in their end-game careers.

Balancing light and dark, so to speak, is extremely difficult to do. What I found particularly helpful was to play other games or rent some movies on particularly bad days, at least until it was time for ls events. Hell, there was a point when all I'd do is prep for end-game events, then afk playing PS3 until it was start time.

My friend had the same problem, but what she did was level another job until prepping/doing events.

I hope this helps. You're an excellent strategist, so you already have the knowledge for getting through this. It's just a matter of rather the solution finds you or if you find it.

I'd say stop being so damn nice lol. It's FUN being a selfish jerk- hence why there are so many in the game>.> just give it time- the game goes in ups and downs.
