My mac mail account has been dropping emails sent to me. There is no spam filter. Mac uses BrightMail and doesn't give you an option to turn it on or off. If BrightMail decides it doesn't like the email being sent, you simply don't get it. The sender doesn't even get a bounce ( Read more... )

Okay, so, just to be fair, the page deals with emails that *haven't* disappeared into the ether. Of course they still only exist on the *sender's* machine, because the *recipient* hasn't got 'em yet. It does seem odd. Did they never expect anyone to actually find this page?

.mac is not good, mate. One of my clients has a lot of people using it (big name comedy guys in the UK who the agency I freelance for work with) and they lose important emails all the time. I highly recommend not using them, and if you're going to pay for email of any sort, use www.unitedhosting.com or someone similar, or gMail for free.
