Kids crack me up. K's seven year old sister has asked me every time I've seen her since the wedding when "the baby is coming" -- you know, that baby that we've nether conceived nor planned? I keep telling her she's going to have to wait a good long while.
How is Bob handling the news of Bob II's imminent arrival? As an only child, I guess I don't know how one goes about preparing a child to become a sister or brother.
She's very excited about her sibling's impending birth, though she has no concept of how long it takes, and she really has no concept of how her life is going to change. We're working on setting expectations for what things will be like. Some of it goes over fine, and some of it doesn't.
(hey, I've been meaning to ask, does Baby have a gestational nickname [Alpha/Fish/Doughnut etc.]? Not that you *have* to do it, obviously, I just want to be sure I'm not offending you by calling it "Baby" and "the upcoming kidlet.")
