Okay, so I know that I've mentioned getting married before, and I've since I've seen other people (cough miss_amt cough laniiolana cough) talk about future weddings I thought I would share what me and Kim have planned
( Read more... )
That church is absolutely beautiful! I love that you both are wearing dresses and using such fun colors. So many people go with colors that I think clash or are too muted. I think weddings are celebrations! No muted colors here.
The paper on the tables is a super cute idea! I also like having different sized vases as part of the centerpiece. :)
All of this wedding talk going around makes me wish I had a special someone. :/ Well, besides my roommate.
Aww you looked at the picture! :) Neither Kim nor I wanted to get married in one of those boxy one room churches (which is pretty common down here because there are just so damn many churches in SC). Infact, Kim didn't want to get married in a church at all until she visited that one, which was great because I always saw my wedding as being in a church haha.
The church I grew up in was sort of a box. I used to imagine getting married there just because I liked my pastor a lot. He's not there anymore. Now I think about getting married in really beautiful old houses or estates. :)
Well, "special someone" in the sense that she's one of my best friends. I am very much single, so she's the closest thing to a relationship I have.
I got baptized by a gay pastor in a boxy church, and I would love for him to officiate. Unfortunately, he's no longer a pastor and was not at the church I plan on holding my wedding. I never thought about trying to have one in an old house, but in SC everything is historic so I guess getting married in an old church is really upping the anty, lol.
I'm excited for you!! It's so much fun planning a wedding, and although its SO MUCH WORK it is totally worth it. About the marriage advice/well wishes, I have the idea to put one table off to the side and make a basket with a lid that is decorated in the reception room colors and have the paper and pens on the table. Then sometime in the reception we want to get the basket and draw out about 3 of the wishes and read them out loud to the party. Knowing our family and friends they'll write crazy shit lol.
This sounds so....fairytale like to me! ^_^ How lovely! Everything sounds so perfect and beautiful.
Although it still wouldn't be recognized in our state, it's very important for us that the wedding be more than just a ceremony.
I think it's so nice of your friend to give you two airline passes to a state where you can get the papers. :D Hey, if heterosexuals can 'officially' get married, why can't you two? I said 'officially', because I think marriage is more than what's on a piece of paper.
Aw, it's cute that you described it as fairytale-like :)
And isn't it great? About the airline passes, that is. I don't know how we'll incorporate that into our honeymoon and stuff like that, but I'm glad that we won't have to use all of our money to get to a place where we can sign papers.
