Just finished the first five seasons. Great storyline and everything wrapped up. It looks very much like the first two were standalone, then the next three were the sequel. I read up on it and the original creator only intended to do five seasons. I suspect the next 3 seasons won't be able to top it, but I hope they can do better than just jumping

I'm still enjoying it, but I also don't think of it as a very deep show. If you're happy, drop it there.

I pretty much said the same thing: "Where can they possibly go from here?" I was shocked that they managed to continue writing good story lines, and maintain the integrity they started with after so many seasons- But they continued to bring it! I think it's it's worth it.
