I really should be focusing solely on the TEST OF EVIL PROPORTIONS I have in Hist/Dev tomorrow, but... there are a couple things I can't help but share and squee over:
(1)
"Typical" music video! While not necessarily my favorite Mute Math song (which has nothing to do with its quality as a single), this. vid. is. brilliant. And I swear I'm

The axed shows always end up being the gems, somehow.

John Crichton being tortured and crying. Broke my widdle heart, yes it did. And then as it keeps going on in "The Hidden Memory," you just ache along with him. Because, yes, of course he's going to be rescued, but you just see him collapse in the cell, and he looks like dren (hee!) and Browder really sells the character as being one session away from total collapse. It hurts, how scary that is.
But just you wait for the finale. There's a scene there that just about KILLED me with Crichton, and maaaaah!!! No spoilers, but it's seriously my favorite scene in the whole first season, probably. Just because of what is said and not said and happens and doesn't happen as a result.

That was some harsh torture - I'm usually pretty numbed to stuff like that onscreen, but John being the recipient (and the purely mental nature of it) somehow made it that much worse. No frelling with Crichton's brain! *growls* That scene with Stark comforting him was just heartbreaking.
Oh, and Scorpius officially intimidates the hell outta me. 'Cos you just know he's not going to let them get away with anything for very long.
Mrrr, if the DVDs weren't so frappin' expensive, I'd just up and buy Season 2.

Scorpius is very scary. He gets more scary in season two, FYI.
Oh, and speaking of? It's really only about $60 per season at this point ::evil grin:: Get the Starburst Edition of the DVDs, and it's like three sets per season, $20 each. I'm slowly building up my collection. I'm almost to season three!
