Payments can be a real problem, but there are solutions. The last time I ordered a new chain for my chainsaw I had to give my credit card to the repair shop before they would place the order. They made a payment copy and returned the credit card to me. When the chain came in, they phoned me and told me to pick it up. It was already paid for. Sage Software does the same thing with my accounting program. The total cost is charged to my account before they send me the codes. I like the system very much. It seems to be the same as hotels use. Saves time and worry.

The only problem with that, is that unless there card is physically swiped through the card-reader, the credit-card companies charge the merchant a premium, above and beyond the regular rate they take. I can take a credit-card number over the phone, but I would have to charge an extra fee to cover the extra fees I have to pay. :/
