Hoof Trimming, Pre-Season Ordering, and Elks

     Yesterday (Monday) was Molly's turn to get her hooves trimmed.  The paddock that Molly and Bonnie share is rockier than the boys' paddock, and this was going a good job at keeping their hooves "naturally" trimmed; But over the winter the rocky surface gets buried, and this allows for excessive hoof-growth.  Thankfully, Molly's previous owners ( Read more... )

I'm tellin' ya, get a nice little horse cart, and use that for your daily errands.

Taco bowl shells are easy: You have a deep fryer at the bowling alley, just get some tortillas (flour or corn) and dunk them in for a bit until crispy. The tricky part is getting them properly shaped, but they fry right up. I learned a surprising number of things one can do with a fryer during my tenure at both Taco Bell and Jack in the Box. Mind, I'm not certain as to the availability of Mexican food in Saskechewan, but if you can get nacho cheese with peppers, you should be ok.

Well, no, not really.. Fried foods are inherently worse than non-, but so very tasty....

That's not really an option, though it is a neat idea. Our deep-fryer is totally self-contained and enclosed, you wouldn't be able to get a bowl-shaped tortilla into it. The fancier Mexican ingredients are available in the larger towns and citis like Swift Current, but here in Shaunavon the Salso Con Queso is about as fancy as it gets, other than refried beans and taco-shells.
