Hi Friends! So I know we've had posts similar to this before (Maybe we can get some new recommendations going too), but I have a horses themed playlist that I've been meaning to upload for you all for awhile. Wait, I do have a couple to add:

Horses - Tori Amos
Another Horsedreamer's Blues - Counting Crows
Something About a Dark-Horse or Whatever - Sybris (well, horse is in the title, anyway)

For country fans:
Corb Lund has a CD called "Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!" with a bunch of horse songs.

Garth Brooks also has a few.

The funniest and truest song about horse ownership might be Since She Started To Ride by Jonathan Richman.

I have a big soft spot for Heavy Horses by Jethro Tull, although the jarring transition from verse to chorus is too prog for my pallid indie-loving blood.

Dave Stamey is a singer-songwriter who has a lot of genuine cowboy knowledge. Good examples of his work include Come Ride With Me, If I had a horse and Spin That Pony - he seems to be an artist whose core demographic is buckaroos. Not sure how commercial that is but he has some good songs and a lovely lived-in voice to sing them with.

I'd like to add: "Where is My Love?" and "Silver Stallion" both by Cat Power and both about horses. <3

ETA: "Silver Stallion" is covered by Cat Power. Sorry!

"War Horses" by Crooked Fingers
"Don't Ride that Horse" Old Crow Medicine Show
"A Weary Horse Can Hide the Pain" The Low Anthem
"Born on a Horse" Biffy Clyro

also, I started a thread about this a few years ago and there were some great suggestions! http://equestrian.livejournal.com/5451118.html
