I got married in September and after the wedding was all over and things were settled down, I decided to do a "Trash the Dress" session with my horse, Lucy. She's a 4yo OTTB mare who can be quite a handful at times, BUT she really stepped up to the occasion and I am very impressed with her.

HAA HAA! You're barefooted! I will admit to a guilty secret; I ride barefooted all the time. It so freaks people out, but I've been doing it for almost 50 years and never suffered an injury.

Also, you are BEAUTIFUL and your mom and friend are both incredibly talented! Very lovely pictures!

I must admit that I love riding barefoot. I've only done it a few times but you can really feel what your calfs/heels are doing, which I loved.

OP, those pictures are GORGEOUS. You and Lucy are both breathtaking, and those canter pictures are to die for.

I love riding barefoot too, though I've only ever done it bareback. I haven't done it in awhile since the boarding barns I am at now specifically prohibit it. Sadness.

yeah that was the other big rule I broke. bad me ;)

I had planned to ride in my Ariat cowgirl boots but I forgot them at my house and was running so late that I didn't have time to go back for them! I was wearing jeans and sneakers under my dress for the on the ground shots, and when I got on my horse my friend just took my shoes and socks off for me. I rolled up my jeans so that you couldn't see them.

There is just something terribly beautiful and poetic--though completely impracticable--about wearing a dress (especially a wedding dress!) in a barn. I LOVE IT! The results are always stunning. :)
