Today is the 53rd annual Tevis Cup, 100 miles in one day Western States Trail challenge. If anyone is interested in following along, there is a webcast here.

What I think is so cool? Looking at the horse/rider lists and seeing how many horses are in their late teens/20ish. Yay for proper care and maintenance!

I think so too! :D And when you see them cross the finish line with their ears still pricked and their eyes still bright, trotting eagerly, it's just amazing.

My friend Gayle is there. She is rider 139 though I think she pulled out. She was riding her arab cross mare, Sweetie who is 20 1/2. :)
