This may be something you all know, but I just enrolled in it myself. Its a "Frequent Rider Program" with Arabian Horse Assn that recognizes all the non-competitive riding that you do- Lessons, Trails, hacking out, training- it all counts (and costs nothing more than your regular membership dues). Hmm... is there anything remarkable about your horse such as the color, size (if their Pony sized, several pony clubs came up in my search) etc- you may be able to go a different route! Like I said, AQHA does it for all breeds, however getting Quarter horse gear may not be appealing to you :) :)

the AHA has some amazing recreational rider programs. Unfortunately, they don't promote them enough.

ooo I didn't know about all of this, thanks! Now If I could just stop being sick so I could actually go out and, ya know, ride!

APHA has one too. http://www.apha.com/rideamerica/

I think it's a great way to "participate" in your breed association without showing. I know APHA does trail ride get-togethers throughout the year too to promote the rideamerica program.

OEF is doing something like this too, I think. I haven't looked into it at all, but worthwhile to research for any (other) riders in Ontario! I believe there are rewards - I guess I should look into it further!
