i'm pretty sure it's filmed in australia. it's a canada&aussie production as far as i remember.

the girl who plays... vicki? the snobby blonde one who's always at odds with the girls, is actually a fairly accomplished rider. she's also a FUCKING GENIUS and she went to beijing/somewhere overseas for the science olympics. she's like one of the top science students in australia. she also loves acting, so had a lot of conflict.

when asked about her saddleclub days, she says something like, "that was in the past. i prefer not to think about it."
hahaha.

Heeehee! Some of them look like they have potential, but they're certainly not (at that point) "great" riders. They look like they've got the basics down but have a LOT to work on..like keeping their heels down, having a stronger leg and quieter hands..

I think the blond one is Veronica..that's hilarious! >D

They're in Australia. I think I heard somewhere that the actors had about two weeks of riding lessons before they started filming. I guess it could be worse though, after all there are horse masters on site all the time.

heheheheeee, they filmed it here in Melbourne, Australia in a place called Werribee. It's about 30mins out of the city, mainly flat, very horsey area. I can't remember the name of the property they filmed most of it at but it is an existing boarding barn for the let's just say OTHER half we all wish we lived like. ;-) As far as I know all the main actors were Yankees imported over to shoot the series. I didn't watch much as the riding made me cringe. Oh and one of the horses on it, a buckskin who played one of the 'Starlight's ', used to agist with us for about 6 months after filming finished, he's a well be-loved family pony. I got kids stopping us every 10mins when I rode my horse Danny in the suburbs as he's buckskin and the amount of little girls who insisted on calling him Starlight.... *laughs*

It's in Werribee? It looks nothing like it. There should really be an episode where they go for a trail in the lions' enclosure at Werribee zoo (mwahahaa!)

The show drove me nuts. After spending much of my childhood reading those books cover-to-cover, I was incredibly frustrated with the inaccuracies. Aside from the horrible riding, the simple facts were all changed from the books. It was supposed to take place in Virginia! Starlight was a bay...not a buckskin! I'm pretty sure Prancer was a bay...not a chestnut! And there were tons of other little things that killed it for me. Sad, but true. ;)

Seconded. I didn't watch but a few episodes, 'cause I'm all old and I don't have tv anymore, but they had absolutely nothing to do with the books. It ticked me off.

Haha! I wasn't sure about Prancer. I know there was another horse that something was off for...maybe they switched from mare to gelding or vice-versa. But yeah, too many things were off for me.

Phil and Stevie's 'romance' made me cringe big time.

Max is pretty damn hot though... Aussie and all LOL
