Yesterday I had the immense pleasure of going to Portland Oregon's Powell's Books for the first time. I've heard so much about it over the years but I'd yet to go for myself. A friend and I decided to rectify the situation so we specifically planned a drive down to Portland to go there. I knew it was going to be big but I don't think I could ( Read more... )

ooooooooh my fucking god. I think I just passed out. Damn. That looks like heaven. I want to read so desperately. Seriously, I might have to make my way out to Portland. OMG.

That first book looks AMAZING. That's where the peak of creativity is in my opinion.

And that second one, way cool.

That looks like heaven I think it actually might be.

That's where the peak of creativity is in my opinion. I'm really amazed at what people are able to put together with drawing and cutouts and photocopying, it's amazing.

Powell's is so awesome!! I've only been twice (and I was sick one of those times, so it was a bit overwhelming), but I was completley impressed. I love that you really need the map to figure out how the hell to get around. :)

Hahaha, "Normal Female Interest in Men Boinking" is the best chapter title ever.

Hee, and your icon makes me go YAY FRANK AND BOB! Oh my god, I love them all so much. So glad I finally jumped on the MCR bandwagon.

Related question: When are you planning on getting in line tomorrow? And how do you want to meet up, etc? Here, my email is: leftpotato[at]aol[dot]com. Let me know! :)

The MCR bandwagon is pretty cool. It has cookies and nerdy boys who love each other that play rockin' music.

I'll go email you about tomorrow now. In case you have spam filters, my email is equanimity23[@]earthlink[dot]net.

OMG I KNOW!

I'm jealous of Portland for having a bookstore so cool. It's the only thing they have that Seattle doesn't the I want.

I'm really excited to get into the Jenkins book.

btw, I like your Drew icon!

I think everyone needs to go to Powell's at least once! I don't even like Portland but I'm definitely planning on making the trip down there again just to go to the bookstore.

I've never been to Portland. What don't you like about it?

Mostly I think I don't like it for silly Seattle/Portland rivalry reasons. But I don't like how the city is laid out or how it looks. Also, every time I've been there everyone I've had contact with seems kind of rude. The only thing they have that we don't that I care about is Powell's so I'd rather just stay home.
