They were talking about the news that, within 5 years, they will have bred wooly mammoths from the DNA derived from prehistoric frozen remains.

Yeah, I am not kidding, this is really happening. Really.

Well.... one person mentioned that, before long, we will be eating mammoth meat.

If you had lived in the 40s-60s, you would have been one of the people who believed we would be driving rocket cars now.

It was a movie, sweetie.

Perfecting cloning from DNA is going to be one of the most awesome pieces of progress evar.

Vague science fiction fears shouldn't be holding back the awesomeness. The thing that personally frightens me is the reality that people don't aim their apprehension toward corporations who own us so badly that the goverment doesn't give enough of a shite to eliminate stuff like high fructose corn syrup from our foodstuffs.

Instead, they flail at scientific breakthroughs. *sigh*
