Found out only this afternoon off my friendlist. Though it wasn't you (guess you posted earlier), I did figure you were the sort of person who liked him.

'Course, there was a cut, so at first I was like, "No way. This is NOT implying what I think it is." - out loud, so my husband was like "What? What?!" Rather than dare click on it, I went to my favorite news site to confirm, and there it was. Then I had to explain to my husband who George Carlin is - the poor dear's not too good with pop culture; he thinks there are celebrities named Steven Spiegel and Kurt Cobert (actually, a Cobain/Cobert combination would be oddly amusing).

Anyway, one of the commentary exchanges at the news site made me feel a little better, so I reproduce it here, with amusing Speaker 1 and Speaker 2 names:

Steven Spiegel: I never got to see Carlin live. :(
Kurt Cobert: Well, you can still see him dead. ...too soon?
Steven Spiegel: He would have thought it funny.

...oh god, I misspelled Colbert every single time in that post. I guess Carlin has me more shook up than I thought. Yeah. That's it.

Marla (my younger sister) and know Mr. Carlin best from "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." He was scheduled to do another stand-up show here in town this fall. I'm sorry to see that won't happen now. :( She & I never did get a chance to see George LIVE. But; Marla & I both loved his sense of humor and wit. There's even a poster of him in the DJ booth in one of the many "WKRP in Cincinnati" episodes.
Thanks George,
Don't worry, I don't watch sports where all they do is "Drive in a circle!"
