Obviously, it's not canon. Not at all. Because the writers... well, I can't see them doing this... ever. Heehee.
Which is why I did! I wanted to get Don out of the same settings I always tend to see him in. I wanted him to have a release other than Judaism and drinking. And I wanted a nice brother moment with just a hint of angst. I think this is, for the most part, because the show has only been giving us a smattering of these moments, here and there, all season long.
Most of my friends are musicians. The main focus in my life besides my upcoming police exam and Numb3rs is the wonderful band that is the Beatles. So, I have a love for music that I wanted to express through more than just Charlie-and-his-headphones. So this is what happened. I hope you all were at least a little entertained by it. If so, then I feel somewhat accomplished. Heh. I did have a lot of fun writing it, though, so that's something. :D

I like this idea that Don found something other than temple that helps him get through. It is relaxing and invigorating, performing, and you get a lot out of it because the audience (good ones anyway) give so much to singers. It's really wonderful. I rather miss it myself.
Nice series! Great job with the prompts!

What's funny is - the two people that have given me feedback on this so far (you and my husband, lol) have both thought that Don was doing something other than what I had written (at first, anyway). Only John thought I was going to make him a male stripper. ::facepalm:: Which, of course, when he told me made me die laughing. Teehee.
I'm glad you liked it... and thanks for the applause! :D Ever since I left acting school, I've rather missed it... *g*

Don's an extrovert and rather physical, so singer suits him. Otherwise he might have to be a drummer or a very active lead guitarist. I can't picture him plunking away on a bass or being satisfied standing still behind a keyboard.
Personally I haven't missed acting at all. I told my final acting coach I was giving it up and he swore I'd be back. He was wrong. LOL But I always miss performing as a singer. There's really nothing like it. In acting you don't get to be you; in singing you get to be the most you ever IMHO, revealing your inner self in the song. To do that and get accepted and praised for it? What a rush and a huge ego jolt.
ROFL at your husband's sense of humor. Me, I'd rather see Colby as an AU male stripper. Of course, you know most male strippers are supposedly gay... ;-)

The Investigation made me smile. I could see Charlie skulking.
Nice done:)

If you need me to look over part two, the offer's still open. I have a few days off work now and Jamie will be away from Monday so I'll have time if you need a read through.

I hadn't thought of it, but I can picture Don doing this.
Now all you need is for something to happen at the place that calls in the FBI, preferably during one of Don's performances!
:)

Ohman. That would be hilarious. Can you see the look on their faces if that were to happen? xD

As for the reactions, it would be fantastic. Not to mention Don would squirm so nicely!
...
Don't suppose we can convince you to write that, huh?
