I'm gonna send you more beta-ing today, so watch out. ;) (We're gonna talk about that "trust" thing.) It's an amazing novel, though, and I'm so proud of you!

I don't think dialogue tags are exclusive to romance novels, but yeah, they bug the hell out of me. Sometimes I even want to take a sharpie and mark them out so I don't have to endure them. I always want to cheer when I find a way to re-write a sentence without using a tag at all. So go, you!

I want that list of garbage words. Not only do I need it for my own fic, but it would be an EXCELLENT topic for my column at the Quill. You would be the perfect one to write that article.... (see my Puppy Dog Eyes)?

I'm glad you posted this. I didn't mention beta-ing because I'm bragging that you let me read it already (Hee! yes I am!), but you told me what I DON'T have to nag you about. Thank you, dearest. :)

but...but...the dialogue tags are kinda what you were talking about last night that I needed more of.

I could write it. Or I'll give you the list. I was gonna write more about it here as I go.

I am way grateful for the betaing. You could just be a BIT more forthcoming! ;)

HERE IT IS! I had it up on my screen but I'd only skimmed (and we know I can't see worth shit). I don't think our schedule is completely ironed out at the Quill, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'm supposed to do one of my two columns this week. We're still transitioning from Tarah's amazing organizational skills, you see, but I know Helen and I are supposed to trade off weeks for our columns and she doesn't have anything planned, so...(should I hide???) could you possibly write a little something up for me tonight? "Garbage Words (and why we hate them)" is a catchy title for an article and I'm gonna do a brief introduction about what "The Craft of Writing" column is about, so your article doesn't have to be anything major. You could just think of our writing books and write something like a small section of one of those ( ... )

Tonight? Wow, I was not expecting that.

Maybe. Am I supposed to send it to you or just go ahead and post it?

Go for it :) I find editing to be the hard part. I have quite a few words I repeat constantly. I notice myself doing it, but can't seem to find an alternative! I clearly need a thesaurus on stand-by on a permanent basis!!

I am the same way! Editing is really hard, and I feel like the thesaurus should be in my brain but it's just not.
