I've only read one of these - the Carrie Fisher one. I got it as a gift at Christmas and just discovered her one woman show based on the book will be in Berkeley at the same time I will be. I'm am so going to get tickets!
I bought my mother-in-law the Sawtelle book last November but she has not read it yet.
My sister lent me the Mortenson book but it was so self congratultory I could not read passed the first few chapters.
I read Dewey, which is about a library cat, which I loved, except the end. And I read the Story of Edgar Sawtelle, which is long but pretty good. However, books about animals tend to all end the same way, so I'm thinking I should avoid books about animals.
I also read Sundays at Tiffany's, which was complete trash.
Oh, I know that; it's just an expression! It's always interesting that the most popular things aren't necessarily the most interesting or well-written though, isn't it?
It is always interesting to see what's the most popular. I think it's expected that popular doesn't always mean well written. I also found it was interesting that not all of these were necessarily best-sellers but were seeing a lot of library use.
