the weekend

If I'm going to finish Nanowrimo I would need to write 3000 words a day for the next 10 days. I guess it could still happen, but realistically...it doesn't seem likely. I'm in a strange conflicted place. I do actually want to finish my story, pointless though it may be, because there's stuff coming up I want to write. I guess I'm invested in it, if ( Read more... )

It's hard to make the time to write! Every time I think I'm going to possibly crank something out, I think of all the real life stuff (like clean!) that I need to do. It never ends, does it? And damn, I hate it when clothes mysteriously go missing!

It is VERY hard to make the time to write. Resistance has really been winning over on me lately.

Realistically, it sounds like you're still invested to me. Just do what you can and don't stress if you don't finish in time - I'd say you've done well to get this far! I couldn't even have begun to start! Pack for your holiday and do what cleaning you have to! Good luck! Sorry about the jeans, but maybe they'll still show up? (do you have a hot water cupboard? I find things there sometimes)

I am still invested! I'm trying to give myself permission to take my time, I think. I'm still working on being okay with that.

I do have a hot water cupboard, and it would be weird if they were in there because I never go in there! So now I will have to look. I should probably also check the much-neglected book room.

It is doable, if you really want to do it.

Then just do what you can?

Isn't that always the way? But then, I start packing a hour before I have to leave, usually.

That is so extremely annoying; I hate it when that happens.

That sounds lovely.
Cleaning will always be there.

Hang in there, okay? I am thinking of you.

I'm hanging in there as hard as I can! Hopefully my lazy weekend will have gone a long way toward that, but who knows.

I always have to repack the night before anyway. But starting now means I can throw things on the pile instead of making obsessive lists in my head.

I know that half the thing about Nano is rushing against the clock, but I don't think it's bad if you don't finish in time, what is great is that you are still invested in it!

ahhh, packing. I make lists beforehand, but always do that at the last possible second.

Yep, I agree. Although beating the clock is so motivating!

I used to make lists. Now I obsess about things by making lists in my head instead. So I start early.

Hi, I just re-read one of my favourite Lost stories "The Morning After". I laughed out loud when I read the following:

"It's just not possible," Sawyer says again, pushing the paper aside. Licking the salt of the bacon from his lips. But there's Jack's face again, telling him it is possible. Jack nods, not touching the food, just clinging to his coffee cup. "So tell me what's new."

"A black man is president," Jack says. The biggest change he can think of, something he thinks will impress or shock Sawyer.

You genius you! I'd beg for a sequel to this story but it's pretty damned perfect the way it stands.

Ha! Thanks for the randomness. :D I'm glad you liked that story, and that line...I don't know, maybe I was thinking of Obama, since he caught my eye at the 2004 convention. Or maybe it was just a character thing, how Jack sees Sawyer.
