My mom sent me an email to tell me some of the X Files fic I wrote in the olden days is being rec'd as pre-movie reading.

And zelda-zee has a poll about longtimers in Lost fandom. It's interesting to read the comments and reminisce about when people turned up. I felt like I got into it so late (in season 1), it's funny to think I only got into it a few ( Read more... )

Cool about the XF fic (and your mother being aware of the recs)! Did you write under the same name. That was the only other fandom I've ever dabbled in.

I was writing under a different name. I thought I'd pulled the stories but I guess I never did, so they're still around.

I was almost afraid to venture into it, plus I was in the throes of another show I watched at the time and almost felt like I was cheating on it..yes, I know, it sounds strange..but it took me a good 5 or episodes of the first season to really get into the fandom, the first person I friended was mediocrechick, followed quickly by halfdutch and foxxcub.

I totally understand! I was so used to having shows cancelled on me that I wasn't willing to get emotionally involved with Lost til I saw it had good ratings. And halfdutch was my first LJ Lost friend.

Ok, firstly, how WILD is it that X-Files is back on the big screen? I still remember sitting in line for the first one! HEE.

I think a lot more of us showed up in season one than we remember, but it's sad sometimes, seeing all the names of people who just don't post anymore, or don't do Lost fandom -- even on LJ, where it's "safer". :(

I know, it's crazy! 10 years.

And yeah, the reminiscing about Lost fandom makes me sad for all the people who've gone away. I miss them!

Actually while moving a couple of months ago I found a folder with a novel-length story of yours I printed out years ago...can't remember the name but about Scully as a child abuse victim. I ended up reading it all again :)

Wow, really? Anamorphosis. I was so proud of that story way back when I wrote it.
