Woo-hoo! Girl, you spoil us with the AUs, you know that? Taking a break from the fabulous Titanic AU to hit us with this delightful and delightfully hot piece. I love Jack wanting Sawyer despite himself, the angst of missing him but not really wanting to feel that way, that jealousy he feels wondering what Sawyer is doing and who with...all so great. :) As always, can't wait for more! *greedy grabby hands*

I'm so glad you liked this! And if you feel spoiled with the AUs, so much the better! :)

I've never read the series, so maybe I'm not the best one to comment here, but I thought this stood pretty well on its own. It was complex, especially the mix of emotions going through Jack. It was sad and it felt real--slighty but interestingly different from the dynamic I'm used to seeing with them, but in character. Especially that ending. *sigh*

[I haven't forgotten the Titanic story, btw. I'm waiting for some time in the next couple of days to sit down and read the last few bits.]

I'm glad you said that, because I wondered if this story would stand alone or not.

No worries on reading the Titanic story, either. It's so long!

Just wanted to say that I'm woefully erratic in my reading these days - I need to back up and reread this series and also to begin your Titanic series, which I cannot begin to tell you why I haven't read yet. *iz saaaad* I'm a bad friend... :(

No worries! I know the Titanic story is long, and different people have different reading availability. I haven't been doing too well with reading lately, either, but I'm trying to get back in the swing of things.

oh how I love this 'verse!
This was sad, but hopeful too.
And I loved how Sawyer using Jack's name instead of a nickname made what he said sound more heartfelt.
also, Sawyer writing a song for Jack made me aww - I know it's what he does for a living, but it's just so sweet.

Thank you! I like what you say about Sawyer writing the song for Jack -- it's very much what I was thinking, like this should be a huge deal, and yet in the story it's not quite. I'm not explaining myself very well...thanks for reading this!
