Sawyer tried to trace the source of the pain. Betrayal? Jealousy? Of who, for who? Jack was his now. Did it hurt that Jack went to her, or did it hurt that she called him?

I like that Sawyer isn't sure who he's jealous of, what he's really upset about. It seems true to who he is that, even if Jack was his, he would still wonder why Kate hadn't come to him, and that might sting. As much as Jack going to her would. There's no real cut and dry answer here, and I really love that about this piece.

This has the same kind of hopeless feel as the finale. Perfect title. ;) Very nicely done.

For how short this is it really gets under your skin. I love that Sawyer doesn't know if he's jealous of Jack or Kate.

Oh, he got a recording, so I figured he called someone... maybe it's me, I know so little about mobile phones (despite owning one!). Anyway, ambiguity still makes it work... just so you know *hugs*

Oh, god, I am such an idiot. He DID make the call, to 911 (the cops), but hung up. My head was clearly on a vacation last night.
