Holy cow, that was...amazing. I feel like a new layer to the show has just been peeled back and revealed to me (does that sound corny? I swear I mean it). The character dynamic, the way they become each other to survive...wow. Just, wow.

Thank you so much! This has been on my mind since the first time I saw Jack's "repo man" scene, it's just taken me this long to write it. I'm happy that it makes sense. That the ending gave you goosebumps is just the added bonus.

It really was...that was about the only thing I liked about it.

I was just watching the s3 premiere on local cable; this piece came had the right time. Everything *fits*.

I loved what you did here with a deceptively simple premise. I remember the days when TPTB said that Jack and Sawyer were two different sides of the same coin. It's something we see more often in fandom than we see on the show. They need each other so much, they're the reflection the mirror sends back: left is right and black is white and they both think they need to become the other in order to survive. Thing is, they don't have to do that, but they need to see each other to understand that.

I agree that we see the Jack/Sawyer duality a lot more in fic, but I also feel like TPTB have been playing with it all season on the show. Then again, I'm known for seeing what I want to see. ;) I do wonder what will happen when they finally meet again -- will everything switch back, or will their need for one another become something stronger, and make them each stronger too?

Wow. The concept of this is so fantastic and original and makes so much sense, I love it for that, but then add to that the way you wrote it, so simply and beautifully, and I am such a goner.

I am so far behind in my reading this weekend..but I have a really good excuse. *smile* But I had to read this before I went to bed.

Excellent concept, each one sort of adapting to the situation, needing to be the MAN they had to be, and hopefully each one seeing what the other man is really like..how they use their skills to survive..how each one has something that can be used to their advantage when they need it.

Now the question is exactly what you raised, will it go back to the status quo or will they finally realize just how alike they are..will they keep those attributes or will they discard them going back to their usual selves.

Loved this and I'm so happy my computer didn't turn the whole screen white and not let me see it..it's been doing that ALL NIGHT!!
