He's said 'I love you' a thousand times in the heat of the moment, but now he can't say it because it just might be true.

My favourite line. Even if it made me cry.

I am speechless and in awe, as always. There are so many things I love about this, Jack standing in the rain, Sawyer driving away and coming back, every single line of dialogue, the rain dripping in Sawyer's coat, the smell of the kitchen, and then that last part...so, so good.

He's said 'I love you' a thousand times in the heat of the moment, but now he can't say it because it just might be true.

Oh, thank you so much. I was worried about the ending of this, so that line having such an impact means a lot to me.

The only light filters through the living room from the kitchen. Sawyer slips off his shoes and leaves them by the door, then looks at Jack. The top few buttons of his shirt are undone, the sleeves rolled up, and his feet are bare. He's warm and he smells like whiskey and dish soap.

"You eat?" Jack asks, rubbing his hand over his head in that way he has. Like he still hasn't gotten used to his haircut, like he expects to run his hands through his hair. "There's still a ton of food."

I am totally and completely in love with that. I loved all of it - but that in particular just...god. It's so perfect. And I don't know what it is about sitting in a car alone with someone when it's raining, but it feels so incredibly intimate, especially the way you wrote it between these two. When Jack got out and Sawyer drove away, it hurt; when Sawyer went back, it made it all better! *loves*

Thank you! What you've said here, about sitting in the car in the rain, is *exactly* what I wanted to capture, so that makes me very happy.

This was beautiful. Every word was perfect. I love the rain -- the rain has almost become a character, hasn't it, especially where Sawyer's concerned -- and I loved the rain clumping Jack's eyelashes. It's little details like that that make your fics so real and vivid. The loneliness and longing came through so clearly. Nobody writes lonely, scared-with-bravado Sawyer like you. My favorite part was how you used Thanksgiving as a metaphor. Sawyer is starving but won't let himself feast, but Jack shows him that feasting is okay; it's what he needs. And now I'll just go to my happy place and imagine what comes later, when Sawyer feasts on Jack/i>. ♥

Sawyer feasts on Jack...that would have been good, huh? I had a lot of trouble writing the smutty part of this. Ah, well. I'm glad you liked it.

I loved this, but I think my favorite part was the at the end..."He's said 'I love you' a thousand times in the heat of the moment, but now he can't say it because it just might be true." I think that that's one of the best lines that I've read in a Jack/Sawyer fic in awhile.

Great job, like always...
*hugs*
