oh, that was all I could ask for and so much more! I'm so glad you've took that prompt, and I knew you would shape it into something heartbreaking and beautiful, but that was really...wow.

I can't pick a favourite between those 5 (or 6) episodes, but I love that part:
When he finished a book, he'd turn back to the beginning, trying to make them last, looking for what he'd missed.

God, you talking about Sawyer and books, that never fails to make me happy *loves*

Thank you for the prompt! This one's been kicking around my head for ages, I just finally got to write it down.

And Sawyer and books...yeah. I love him with them too. Can't help it.

Oh, I'm so glad you're writing again! ;)

I loved all of these, just Sawyer being so rootless, always having to be on the move. Like how he's almost happy to have his muscles ache, that he can't even let his own body rest.

I'm feeling crap at feedback but this was beautifully written. It's so sad that what he finally considers home isn't because of anyone else, but because of the solitude and his sense of achievement. It's one more hard shell between him and the world.

Oh, wow, I love it when feedback makes me see something I wrote more clearly than I did when I was writing it. Because you're so right...none of Sawyer's homes have anything to do with people, really, and especially not on the island.

Thank you so much for reading this!

I waited til after supper to read this because I wanted to relax and savor it, and as always, you didn't disappoint. I loved each snapshot, but I think I liked the fourth one best. Sawyer felt relaxed in jail, probably because he felt like he was finally where he deserved to be. The rootlessness that came before probably disturbed him because there was too much freedom to be himself, to be the bad person he believes he is. And now maybe the island feels like another jail, another punishment, so he can make peace with being there, too. (Sorry, didn't mean to put words in your mouth, there, my analytical brain just ran away with me. ;) ) I love it that he loves his shelter because it's the first place that really belongs to him. Everything else in his life has been stolen, but he feels like this is earned. What a perfect touch. ♥

The island as another prison idea definitely occurred to me. Although the island seems like Sawyer's kind of place more than punishment, the whole "in the wild" thing.

I'm glad you liked this. It's funny that you liked the fourth bit the best, cause it's the one I find sort of the least likely, you know? Like Sawyer would really stop being a hellion just to get through the time.

I think I was okay with his...jeez, do I really want to say passiveness?...because he knew exactly what he was up against. 45 days, then it's over. Just deal, and get through. That's kind of the strategy he's using in captivity on the island, too, but since he doesn't know what to expect he's planning and scheming while he's putting on the casual act. I guess I just think that prison would be a known variable, so he'd just ride it out, but the island is an unknown so he'd test the waters. Um, I'm not making sense, am I? I just finished watching the "moo" scene in Rent, maybe that explains that.

That was absolutely beautiful. And made me tear up like a little girl. I don't think I could pick a favorite. Love the line about holding him when he didn't even know he needed to, and the stain in the kid's room and the final piece just makes me ache. Lovely.
