Even if i AM being cast aside to due some overzealous rapscallions(haha) that are just eager to get work/money... they are really fucking up the industry working that cheap. Its devaluing a skilled trade. Because that's basically what commercial art is... and people seem to not want to grant us the same respect that other skilled trades(wo)men in other industries receive.
I came across an article written by an illustrator about this last year sometime, dealing with commissioned artists versus stock-image website memberships(which i have been overlooked for gigs in the past by the very paper i was working for because of stock image sites)... I may have emailed it to myself. Was an insightful/emotional read from what I remember.
I can rant about this shit for days without stopping, but yeah, this shit will be the death of that particular industry.
Largely why I'm no longer bothering with said "industry". Its caught in it's own crumbling domino effect, and the only people who actually have the ability to prevent that (the artists themselves) are not only willing to line up, they'll cut each others throats for the chance.
Such is the inevitable result of a wide spread unregulated system really, but such things bring benefits too, if you know what they are and how to use em.

mind you, this isn't the worst job offer I've seen on those fucking bidding sites.
