I really like the opening sentence. This was a very dense fic to me, in that Suzie's motivations are so convoluted and I don't think even she could say exactly why she does what she does. Of course, the title really helps in that regard.

I really like the descriptions of her relationship w/ Jack in the first half. That was definitely my favorite part. And I was very impressed w/ all the details throughout, and how each was necessary to the story, but totally organic.

This is a believable depiction of Suzie (and consistent w/ your characterization of Suzie, I thought).

I think I might have failed in the denseness of the text, if one must rely in the title for the explanation. I felt quite constrained by the word count, IIRC, and ended up cutting at least 200 words. It probably would have been better if I had left them in.
